Why teach children krav maga? Children have specific characteristics such as size, temperament, and life experience.
Children also have specific threats that they have to deal with (e.g. environmental dangers, dealing with bullies, assault by a bigger person).
We teach children self-defence using scenarios as a context - We teach them how to recognize aggressive behavior and differentiate the level of threat.
In the process of training, children also learn how to de-escalate, remain calm and decide appropriately on how to respond using reasonable force. The training also improves their self-esteem, discipline, and respect of other people.
Krav Maga for kids and juniors are taught using specialized games to help your child get used to physical contact, develop their responses, and also increase their assertiveness.
Instructors will supplement your child's knowledge by openly explaining real-worlds scenarios that children may encounter.

2025 Anti-kidnapping workshop for kids and teens
KIDS (age 7-9)
What's are the classes like? Kids classes involve plenty of games that directly translates to self-defence skills. It is very active and lots of fun. We teach kids how to fight but we do not encourage them to be overly aggressive. Combative drills are done on pads and there is no sparring (but there are 'sparring games'). We also teach kids to posture confidently, use their voice, and to avoid confrontation if possible. We teach kids that fighting back is a last option and we always encourage them to seek immediate help from a parent/teacher/police.
JUNIORS (age 10-14)
What's are the classes like? Junior classes also involve games that directly translates to self defence skills. It is very active and lots of fun. Junior techniques start to resemble the adult techniques and they are taught to use mellow as well as controlled aggression. We teach juniors how to fight by striking pads and also by teaching them light and controlled sparring. The use of reasonable use of force based on New Zealand law is introduced at junior class. We also teach them how to posture confidently, use their voice, and to avoid confrontation if possible. We tell Juniors that fighting back is a last option and we always encourage them to seek immediate help from a parent/teacher/police.
